I created a wall at wallwisher.com. Here is my wall... http://www.wallwisher.com/wall/achuppteaches
The site uses post-its to create an online bulletin board to post announcements, keep notes or ask questions.
I posted a question that students can answer to sum up the unit we are currently on. The site could also be used as a TOD or parking lot. It could also be a place to post announcements, upcoming dates, field trips, etc... If I wanted students to respond, they could use the "Open ID" selection and post their comments. I need to check to make sure the site is available at my school (it could be blocked as almost everything else is...).
I really liked your wallwisher. I really like how you are using it as a assesment tool for the end of a unit. I think the kids would have fun with this. Was it hard to get the page set up and created? I really like how it is able to be used as sticky notes. This would be something even my third graders could create. Thank you for sharing. If this is blocked can you save it on a feed or blog to get into it then?
ReplyDeleteThat is always the challenge in preparing for classes. We need something that is quick to put together and is effective in its instruction.
ReplyDeleteI like wallwisher too! It would be great for attendance even, when the students come in they just have to respond to a question on the board, then you'll see who's there without having to "take attendance". Although there are some challenges there as well, making sure everyone answers, and how much time will it take. Either way, I think it's a great tool to use in the classroom.
