Thing 11: Slide Shows!

Create your own video slideshow at animoto.com.

Here are the URL's:

I used animoto for my slide show. I wanted my text to show up on my pictures but, I could only figure out how to get the text slide to come before the picture. I may try to do the slide show in slide.com as I saw several others slide shows with text on the photos. This was fun to do and a great idea as an option for my architectural design project my students will do in the geometry unit coming up!

  1. I really liked your slide show. It was fun to watch with the music that matched the topic so well. Could you have slowed the pace of how fast the pictures changed? Was it easy to work with the website and uploading the photos from flickr? I really did like the way it looked and was set up. The page before with the title gave you a quick glance before to help you know what you were looking for. I really like how you set this up. I will have to try using the slide show. I used pikistrips and it was pretty easy after some practice. However i think the kids would have a lot of fun making the movie.

  2. I really like the architectures you used for each slide. They are very beautiful. The music went well with it also. Great job.

  3. I will definitely look into Animoto when I have the students build a slide show. The background music certainly added a nice touch. I felt adequate when I used Slide.com as students were able to add captions to the pictures. The assignment would be quick and easy once the pictures were uploaded. Perhaps it would be quicker to provide the pictures ahead of time so class time isn't wasted on searching for pics.

  4. Slide shows are such a nice way to present information and get students more engaged. I hope you'll be able to show your students how to do this so that they can do their own shows at some point. I'm sure you'd be impressed with their creativity.
